Jose Navarro

Last Updated 12/4/2024Posted in Veteran Stories

Jose, originally from Orlando, Florida, and now living in Ohio served as a specialist in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division from 1985-1989. He completed basic training, AIT, and jump school at Fort Benning in Georgia with his Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) in anti-armor. While stationed at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, NC, he suffered leg injuries and partial vision loss in his right eye.

These service-connected disabilities affected Mr. Navarro’s ability to work, resulting in his home needing serious repairs. Jose reached out to Purple Heart Homes. The Purple Heart Homes Northeast Ohio Chapter provided the Navarro family with a new roof, insulation, and bathroom renovation, bringing back the safe home they desperately needed.

Jose said, “It was like a whole new life. Purple Heart Homes was like a lifebuoy in an ocean.” He went on to say that he and his wife would be forever grateful for the help of Purple Heart Homes. And we are grateful to have been able to serve Jose and his family.

Welcome to the Purple Heart Homes family, Jose!
